PROVIDENCE RADIO AUDIENCE LEADER
DEAL FOR #1 RATED RADIO STATION ANNOUNCED
RED WOLF BROADCASTING to acquire 3 radio stations from Hall Communications
Ledyard, Conn., March 11, 2026 — Cat Country 98.1, Inc., a subsidiary of Connecticut broadcaster RED WOLF BROADCASTING CORPORATION has reached an agreement to acquire three radio stations from Hall Communications: WCTK “Cat Country 98.1” [serving Providence, Rhode Island], “Big 101.3 FM” W267CY and WNBH-AM, all licensed to New Bedford, Massachusetts.
“I am thrilled to add Cat Country 98.1 WCTK, Big 101.3 and WNBH to our roster of New England radio stations and streaming platforms,” said John Fuller Founder & CEO of RED WOLF. “WCTK is an iconic station with tremendous reach, a powerful brand and an outstanding team.
Under the terms of the agreement, Cat Country 98.1, Inc. will assume operations of the stations immediately through a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) beginning March 16, 2026, while the transaction awaits approval by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Fuller said the acquisition represents an important step in the continued growth of his locally owned New England broadcasting company, Fuller stated “We are always looking to expand and grow with strong media brands and events”. Fuller also praised Hall Communications for the legacy it has built over more than five decades. “Hall Communications has done an exceptional job building a strong foundation for the past 55 years. WCTK is the highest-rated country music station in the Top 50 radio markets and is continually ranked No. 1 in the Nielsen ratings in Providence,” Fuller added. “We look forward to building on that success and momentum.”
Fuller noted that the employees of Hall Communications are an important part of the transaction and the station’s future.
“One of the greatest assets in this transaction is the talented staff that has helped make these stations successful,” Fuller said. “The current employees, many of which I have known for years, will remain in place and will have the opportunity to join our team as we move forward.”

Fuller began his broadcasting career at age 21 when he launched WJJF in Hope Valley, Rhode Island, a country music daytime-only AM Station in 1985. Today, he owns and operates over 30 radio stations, streams, and podcasts across New England, serving audiences in markets including New London, Hartford, Springfield, Providence, Litchfield, and Burlington, Vermont.
The company’s portfolio includes stations such as Radio 104.1 WMRQ, Bomba Radio (WMRQ-HD2) 97.1-98.5-99.5-101.7-102.3-104.5, Latina 100.3 WKKB, 102.9 The Whale (WDRC-FM), The Talk of Connecticut (WDRC-AM), Kool Radio 104.3 & 96.1, 102.5 WBOM Hartford’s R & B Station, Soft Rock 106.5 WBMW, Jammin 107.7 WWRX, 94.9 News Now WJJF, U.S. Country 99.5, KOOL Radio 96.1-104.3 WSKP, Soft Rock 97.3 WZBG - Litchfield, WSPR Bomba 104.5 and Jamming 100.1 WACM, Springfield and Eagle Country 97.5 WTNN Burlington, VT.
Fuller’s company also produces “The Women’s Health Beauty & Bridal Show at Mohegan Sun, The Latin Expo in Providence and numerous concerts including Panic At The Disco, Plan B, Luis Figueroa, Gupo Niche and Pepe Aguilar, Saturday May 2 at Mohegan Sun.
